“A warm hug from the team behind Sideways. Paul Giamatti and the director Alexander Payne reunite for a funny and moving tale.”
★★★★ Kevin Maher, Times (UK)

"... A gentle audiovisual prod in the ribs – reminding the viewer that even though it may be decades out of practice, mainstream American cinema is still allowed to elevate, probe and delight in ordinary lives like these."
★★★★ Robbie Collin,  Daily Telegraph

"There’s an emotional restraint in both the performances and the film surrounding them, despite the time of the year, and when a light sprinkling of sugar does come in the last act it feels earned."
★★★★ Peter Bradshaw, Guardian

“It turns a wintry film into a heartwarming tale about a trio who find a way, by hook or by crook, to get through Christmas together.”
★★★★ Tom Davidson, London Evening Standard
